Tomorrow is Thursday, the porthole to Friday which is the gateway to the weekend! Sounds crazy but I started back to work this week and this is how I plan for my weekend. The weekends are very special, whether you work inside or outside of the home, because I think the weekend should always include some “me” time! A friend once told me that we should try and live our lives divided into fourths. Every day we should have time for family, spiritual time, work, my time. And, I would be willing to bet that most of us put the “my” time last.
Well weekends, I try to do just that! This weekend I am working on ruffles and binding! Three separate projects, but all equally important. One of the quilts I am binding is definitely a WIP and has been for quite a while. Have any of you ever had a project that you are so excited about during the piecing part then can’t figure out how to quilt it so you put it away until the next day to “figure it out”? Well, that next day was 5 years later and I pulled it out, practiced my machine quilting (which came out OK I might add) and now I am ready to bind it! My tastes have changed a bit but I still really love this quilt.
I’m pretty happy with the machine quilting! Also, this is a tip I use so I always have the correct color of thread with my quilt. I put in a baggie the thread (on the spool or bobbin) and the label. Then when I am ready it is all there together and I am not searching for it!
Here is the newest quilt.
I have always wanted to sew a log cabin and so I finally did! This pattern is from Kim Diehl’s book Simple Seasons.
Now to work on the ruffles for a baby quilt. I’ll post a picture when I’m done! It’s going to be a great weekend!
