Welcome to the cafe! It is Sunday, the first day of the week and I thought I would start off my week by entering my first post on NJ’s Stitchery Cafe! I have seen and read so many of your wonderful words, from sewing/quilting, trips, family fun, retreats and so much more that I wanted to participate in that with you. For my first post, I wanted to share a couple of my favourite quilts. Hopefully, I am inserting the photos correctly!
This was a quilt I made awhile ago when I was in my French blue mode! (For more French blue, have you every looked at French General? Amazing!!!) I loved the colors and the pattern however my machine quilting did leave a bit to be desired. Thank goodness the fabric is a busy fabric and my machine quilting doesn’t really show up! Machine quilting is something that I am always working on. Leah Day from Craftsy teaches a wonderful class on machine quilting. I always try and refer back to her before I start sewing!
I call this my scrappy snowball quilt! I love the way it all blends but still looks scrappy.
It is quite comfy and we use it often!
This quilt was just completed! I purchased a jelly roll of Moda Urban Chicks Boho fabric and fell in love with the boldness of the fabrics. However, this was intended for a baby so I had to tone it down a bit. I contacted Kathy at Pink Chalk Fabrics and asked if she could help me coordinate fabrics. I am a bit nervous trying to match colors when I don’t have the fabric in hand and she was a huge help. I found the pattern from Blue Elephant Stitches.
Well, enjoy your Sunday and make it a great beginning of your week! Hop into your sewing room and whatever you are making, put your heart into it! It will be beautiful!
