As I have already talked about, color can be difficult. What goes with what, do they clash, is it light or dark enough, and does it look good? These are all questions I ask when I am working on a project. Well, I went back to my Color Mastery Book and worked up a new color wheel. This one has brighter colors and I used that to work on my next project.
The new project was made for a friend at work. She was moving locations so I wanted to give her something to remind her that she was indeed a Superstar. I wanted to use more modern colors so I went to Fabricworm for a look. They had a lovely set of batiks and (as it always happens) helped me match the batiks when I needed more fabric. I backed this lovely with some beautiful Cotton and Steel that matched perfectly. The quilting is a bit wonky but that’s what makes it personal, right?
The colors are a mix of warm and cold but I like the final look. I used analogous harmony as most of the colors are next to one another on the color wheel. I also used complimentary colors for some as they are across from one another, like the orange and green colors. The final picture is that of the finished project with the backing.
All in all I was really happy with the outcome! Now onto another project…
